I've got a WD Red 4Tb case where both copies of module 01 are damaged, however I've managed to read by composite using LDR and DIR upload. Tried writing the good copy back but neither copy will take.
Normally I'd just smart hot swap, but the drive crashes out the second it hits a bad sector and goes back to clicking / spinning down.
Is there any way to relocate module 01, perhaps by editing SA regions and re-writing tracks/modules or some other means?
I've typed out a more detailed description here: https://www.data-medics.com/forum/move- ... t1308.html

Re: Possibility to relocate module 01
You know what, I think I figured it out.... looks like the location is referenced in ROM.... let's see about fixing that will update soon.
Re: Possibility to relocate module 01
DataMedics, You are right, in new drives the Dir address is written in ROM, and can be changed using SA regions editor. If original Dir space is with bad blocks, find the free space in SA, change the Dir location in ROM, and write a donor Dir into new area, and restart the drive.
In a case of non-possibility to change DIR location in ROM please contact me in ts.acelab.eu.com , we will try to find the solution together, maybe with developer's help, if necessary.
