WD10JPVX Still got BSY after Slow Responding Fix

Postby gameboybin » 25.03.25, 17:34

Hi everyone. I have a drive that came in knocking. I have changed the heads and the drive comes in RDY however when got BSY when ID
I then proceeded to do Slow Responding Fix. Which did Upload LDR and module 02 normally. I backed up All SA modules. And tested which all gave green
However as soon as i Allow SA access and restart the drive. The drive hangs on BSY upon ID again
Can anyone help me out with this issue?? Many Thanks!!!

Don´t allow SA access, upload Dir+LDR, any other mods you do in RAM and then get the data.
0 MB Capacity could hint at other issues also.

Update: I see you posted more details over on guru forum, +1 for pepes suggestion to check dir.

When regions blocked and LDR and DIR uploaded to ram, if you send soft reset does it hang on BSY again?
Also, when regions blocked and after LDR and DIR uploaded try RAM head map to '0,0,0,0' then soft reset to check once again if BSY flag comes on

If after any resets BSY goes and DSC DRD remain can you refresh ID?

So after all it was still the heads. The platters possibly have too much degradation that killed that new set of heads. I changed the heads 1 more time. And got like half of the drive mapped
