WD NAND Cache memory

Hello Everyone,

I have a WD3003FZEX-00Z4SA0 with a badly burned PCB. I'm attempting to use a donor PCB with the original ROM, but it appears that the NAND memory from the donor drive PCB is preventing the drive from becoming ready.

Is there a way to disable the PCB NAND Cache memory through ROM manipulation? I've attached the original ROM.

Thank You

Have you tried hot-swapping? I did a similar case and hot-swap worked well.

In my fw base 00Z4SA0 belongs to Vivaldi family.
Have never seen a hybrid Vivaldi with NAND cache, post a picture of the PCB or PCB number.

Thank you for your prompt response and yes drive belongs to Vivaldi family. I have attached images of the original PCB, and its ROM has been successfully transferred to the donor PCB.

There is no NAND on that drive, just the standart SDRAM.
Trouble is somewhere else. Preamp could also be damaged and should be checked as first thing, to protect data.
If preamp is fine use SA blocking and normal WD troubleshooting procedures to figure out whats going on.

Indeed, you are correct. I appreciate your observation. Thank you!
