i/o error

I have a portable hard disk and i m using R-studio for recover my data but an error accured

error is:-- i/o reading error

kindly somebody help me out

More than likely the drive is physically failing (*bad sectors).
Why are you using R-Studio and not PC-3000 to image it?

The port of the given Hard Drive is a USB port .Which is not compatible with pc 3000

Yes it is.
PC3000 supports WD USB drives.
There is a utility specifically for it.
You may not be able to work with the SA, but you can mount the drive as normal (but through USB) and image with DE.
At least you are saving all read sectors that way.

OR:
Better still you can convert the USB PCB to SATA (or use a matching SATA board and swap the ROM) and connect it the traditional way.
Its the only way to diagnose the issue.
