Hi guys,
Are there any ways of visually differentiate a Spyglass HDD from a Spyglass 2? Are there any differences between their PCB designs or labels?

you can do it by model.
First of all Spyglass top model is 4TB, while Spyglass2 is 5TB. So if you see a 5TB drive, it's not a Spyglass
Second, using model codes you can tell exactly what you are dealing with, for example WD40NMZW-11GX6S1.
The GX6S, J8FT, PDPT, RZGS, AKRT, JHGT, Y94S are Spyglass.
And HYTT, A3YS,LG6S,MR8S,PW8S are Spyglass2

To add to that I think (but can be corrected) A8JS and A8KS are Spyglass2.

No, those are Spyglass2 Ultra Light. They have different PCB.

Okay, thanks for clarifying.
