Hi,

I've got the above drive. Drive spins, clicks 11 times then becomes RDY.

Autodetect works, selects Zephyr utility in kernel mode. Utility starts but no HDD info is displayed.

I have several ROMs from HDDSurgery for this model, I have tried uploading each into RAM which gives me the XYZ HDD info. Restarting the utility in Normal mode then gives me the error 'Zone Allocation Table: HDDs RAM reading error Device Error Detected: "SCT INVALID FUNCTION CODE"'.

I also get the popup window for the HDD SA geometry parameters.

The ROMs I have seem to be a close match, any ideas what the issue could be, or are we looking at bad heads?

Hello,

Try to block Sa access in ROM and repower the drive.
If now it's not clicking then most probably issue related to SA modules condition.
Upload DIR and Loader with the same f/w version like current ROM, Check Heads test, check modules condition and native F/W version of this drive, fix damaged modules if necessary.
After that you'll be able to decide what is wrong with this case.

Yes, I would change heads.
