WD10JPVX-75JC3T0 goes READY but BUSY when trying to read/utility (cannot "solve slow respond problem" due to BSY)

Hello,

I have a WD WD10JPVX-75JC3T0 2.5" the drive sounds fine (like it mounts) and hits READY (DRD & DSC) HOWEVER as soon as I try to access the drive (utility or whatever) it just stays in BUSY (BSY DRD DSC).

Usually I would fix this with "solve slow respond problem" however the drive NEVER gets to ready after trying to read it. Some drives with slow respond problem can take a few hours to read utility and apply "solve slow respond problem" not this drive.. I waited for over 48 hours..

I also replaced the heads and pcb (both work perfectly fine on DONOR) so its definitely not mechanical or electrical.

Any suggestions??

Isolate heads. Start drive; it will come ready in a couple of minutes. Enter kernel mode, block SA access. Remove isolation, re-start in kernel mode. Load dir and LDR. Re-start in normal mode. SA should be accessible. Backup. Apply slow-responding. Unblock SA. I suggest you read the blog posts. This procedure is covered there.
