ROM READ/WRITE USB/COM

Postby odedshankar » 10.01.17, 02:20

Hi Guys,

Recently i have purchased the WD new adaptors in order to read ROM IN BOOT CODE.
It was easy with the 3.5" & 2.5" SATA drives.
I am now trying to read a USB 2.5" PCB without any luck, did someone execute that and can advise whats the process with the USB PCB's?

Thanks Folks

Hi Mate,

In this post it uses a Toshiba adaptor, i am using the WD new dedicated adaptors.
I was using the right utility but was trying only the PCB connected with the COM adaptor and the USB cable connected to power the PCB but it didn't work.
Do i need a the drive to be connected to the PCB while trying that? and does it need to be functional and register? in this case whats the point?

Cheers

Hello ,
Sometimes You Have To Wait Till 15 Minutes so That Drive Can Enter Kernel Mode When Its Connected To PC 3000 Alone .Also Can You Show Me How You Are Connecting It In a Picture Attached To The Post Please

Hi Arambir,

Please find the attached picture, i waited 20 minutes an still get nothing.
Maybe i am using the Utility in a wrong way?
I go to Marvel USB/COM Utility and try to run it in Boot ROM mode, but nothing is found.

Try flipping the adapter over. Usually it's set to stick up when the PCB is assembled to the HDA.
