Postby Imnew » 19.09.15, 11:33

I have WD20EZRX-00DC0B0 with head problem.
The family is diablo3d.
I did not have a donor HDD from diablo3D family so i changed the head from diablo3s.
The HDD is identified perfectly and can read all the modules.
The log is as follows:

Flash ROM dir reading (Ext)............. : Ok
Modules directory address............... : 89 648
SA regions address...................... : by default
SA Translator loading................... : Ok

Heads configuration..................... : by map
Heads number............................ : 4
Heads number in use..................... : 4
Switched off heads...................... : No
Heads map............................... : 0,1,4,5
ROM Firmware version.................... : 0004002Q

Service area:
Permanent overlay....................... : Loaded
SA dir reading (ID)..................... : Ok
SA Access............................... : Copy 0,Copy 1

Configuration reading................... : Ok
Master Password......................... : has not been set
User Password........................... : has not been set

But gives ABR error on reading any sector.
Can someone provide a solution. Thanks in advance

Run head map edit in RAM and set all to '0' then after soft reset try to read LBA 0

Create a data extractor task
Build head map in DE
Return to utility and run head map edit
Set all heads in map to '0'
Soft reset
Return to DE and try to read some sectors with H0 only. Maybe LBA0 is bad.
If nothing reads, repeat steps but substitute '0' in map to all '1' then try to read some sectors under H1 only.

If this fails, then you need to look at SA modules as there is probably some error there. Check module #32 is not full, check modules #31, #36, #34 also. If all seem good, then write back here with full SA report from SA modules checking.
