Hi,
I want try to replace heads of a WD5000BMVV but I've not an identical working disk.
I've a WD5000BEVT, is it a compatible donor?

Is there a list of hardware compatibility that I could use to search a donor?

Thanks in advance :)

That guide posted above is a good place to start, but there are other ways to match WD that aren't listed there. In some cases you can use a different model drive, so long as it's within the same family. Once in awhile, you can even get away with a different family that's got a close date and the same aerial density. You should start by posting your full drive specs, not just the consumer model number (WD500BMVW may actually includes multiple families). The part after the dash is actually more important than the part before.

Just post a picture of the label.
