Imaging without Damaged Head0 in WD Fblite drives

Postby murtazabawa » 02.07.17, 06:39

Hello Everyone,

I am trying to clone this 1TB WD drive having bad head0 by editing head map with 1123 after loading LDR from file. but drive shows MB(1) in capacity. Also drive does not get its actual ID.

Kindly advise.

Is it possible to access data with other working heads if head0 is damaged and clone the drive with 1,2,3 heads?

It should be possible to image the other heads, but if you're showing MB(1) for capacity there may be an issue with the firmware. Try checking all the modules on head 1.

Thanks DataMedics,

Replaced with working HSA and every LBA is accessible. I had checked every module from head 1 but everything was ok except some usual modules.

Anyways data recovered and customer is happy so am I.

When you wanna to start utility, after selecting family, select normal mode instead kernel mode and start. After that upload loader and then try to change ram head map. After editing ram, refresh hdd id. you should get the correct id and capacity. So this way should be worked. Try it!
