Well, I noticed that the drive reported capacity of 0 GB, and tried the "
Solution for the "Translation violation (0 GB)" problem" which actually failed. Then after some reading I decided to try the "
Solution for the HDD Lock (LED: 000000CC) problem" since the HDD failed to become ready.
The hard drive now reports the correct capacity, and the "
PIO Register access timeout (1)" message has gone. So it seems to have fixed something.
There are however still some issues, example when trying to read S.M.A.R.T info, it reports "Error reading S.M.A.R.T. (Attribs) HDD Redynes timeout (100000)"
(a small typo in the err.msg btw)Regarding the status registers, DRD and DSC is green, no stuck BSY or any red lights.
