Hi all,

The article is great but there is information missing which makes it very difficult for newbie's.

It shows the screen with the error when try to read system file and then comes back with 'Write 17A sys file (you can take it from the link provided below)' - where is the link? Could you please add the missing information?

Hi all,

Newbie again, your English is confusing me most of the time; I have found the link, it was not below, it was at the bottom....

Hello,

I have the same issue with my drive:

Rst 0x10M
RW: Disc Ctlr Initialization Completed.
FAIL Op=0165 Resp=0005
FAIL Op=0055 Resp=0005
(P) SATA Reset

SIM Error 1009
RW Error 00000080

Problem is when I launch the utility and select "Sentosa" family I get an error "Error initializing microprogram tabled! Alternate initialization is possible!":

HDD family detecting...

Family ID: 55
Selected family......................... : 55, Sentosa
Model by ID............................. : ST1000LM010-9YH146

Loading default settings!
Use the options dialog to review and save utility settings.
Then press OK!

Family default settings loading!

Tech Key...
Error starting command "En Tech" (ABR)
Terminal : error switching HDD port to 921000 baud rate

As such I cannot see system files or any of the modules. Any idea what is causing this and what do I do?

Thank you!

Ignore log and open terminal window and press CTRL+Z to get T>. Next, navigate to 'view and edit resources' and enter under system files tab volume: 003, ID 0x017A, Copy 0 - you will probably see an error but right click inside the empty window where loaded module should be and select load from file, load the file located at the link supplied at the start of the topic. Write this and restart drive.

You may want to try slower baud rate also if you have problems writing or switching to high rate

115000 baud rate is the best for Sentosa family
