Hi Guys,
Just got for the first time the new Seagate st2000lm007 slim form factor with bad heads.
This is the first time i see one of those, and they look a bit funny.
Before i fiddle with it did someone had the chance to swap heads on these ones? if so what is the best and safe way to do so.
Thanks

Re: Seagate st2000lm007 heads swap
I think the biggest concern right now is that it's not supported by PC3000 yet and the diagnostic port is locked. I read on data medics forum that there isn't much space for head combs or spacers, but even if the head swap works what if you need to fix firmware?

Re: Seagate st2000lm007 heads swap
you are right, but at this stage the only thing i can do is try and swap the heads to try and recover the data.
But i find it very challenging - as you said -not much space, no right combs yet and i can't seem to find the pivot or screw to remove the heads stack.
