Dear Users,
You are often facing with a problem when on Seagate F3 drives you can read sectors in the beginning of the drive but from certain LBA the drive is filled with UNC error and in Data Extractor sectors are missed by utility.
This is translator issue and it can be caused by various reasons. One of them is useless (unwanted) defects in main defect list – Non-Residect G-list (NRGL).

Curious, why don't you recommend to also check: "disable IDLE activities"?
In Edit HDD ID we have to disable all flags except first one

I've never really found that one to make any difference. Probably because the drive isn't idle during imaging.

I think the point here is if it's OK to "disable IDLE activities" then why single it out and say "disable all flags except first one"? It would be easier to just say "In Edit HDD ID disable all flags". Why single it out?

They didn't single it out. By default, that box isn't checked. They simply didn't recommend you need to do anything with it because it's generally unnecessary to do so.

I see now, they did single an item out just not the one specified.
That said, it looks like I was confused by 300DDR's post. They were referring to "Show additional diag message in terminal" and not the item 300DDR listed.
So I was confused by the question presented, this actually makes a lot more sense now, thanks for pointing it out.
I'll try to work on my reading comprehension
