Hello.
I have an ST1000LM035-1RK172 where the user area is unreadable.
It boots normally, spins up, and no noise is audible.
However, all user data is output as 00.
I applied “Tech Mode unlocking preparation, (patch)” to access the SA and backed up the HDD resources, but I couldn't back up Sysfile3x348. (3x28 and 35 were backed up successfully.)
Do I need to rebuild the translator to access the user data?
Are there any points I should be careful about?

Save all modules, and check module 93,28,35, and 348, check head if write, and regenerate MCMT.

Backup sysfile 028 or mod 02B then clear MCMT at terminal (F3 C>U10)

If MCMT is unreadable and op is prepared to regen 028 as mentioned in his post (maybe he already has) then clear MCMT is better option for him and will result in very minimal loss (if any). Is always advisable to try read 348 /50 where possible at all copies with option like ignore read error etc to try saving it, but clearing MCMT does not lead to drastic loss like others suggest it does...

You may erase anything containing errors (plist, translator, mct...) if you think it will give the desired result.
