ST2000LM007 Platter Scratch

Postby Hddex » 20.02.22, 08:40

As you can see from the photo there is scratch on the top platter , I checked the second platter and it looks clean. How I have a donor drive. What is the best way to avoid the replacement head getting damaged when reading the top platter ?

This scratch is before the ramp end so i wouldn't worry that much. But the platter looks dirty.

Now, here's a question:
If it is before the ramp, how was the ring created in the first place?
(there is easy answer)

Bent heads that didn't make it to park right or broken ramp.
