Hi guys, I am new here, today I got this frustrating problem on this ST500LM000 SSHD, head clicking, after changing the head, the disc is spinning, and really disc info correctly, but with the following error
RECOV Servo Op=0155 Resp=0005 PASS
RECOV Servo Op=0055 Resp=0005
RECOV Servo Op=0155 Resp=0005
SIM Error 5000 LBA 0000000000097E38 FD 3811611F
RW Error 43110081
RECOV Servo Op=0055 Resp=0005
(DOS) Table Read FAIL

LED:000000BC FAddr:00004040

Is it still the head problem or translator problem?
Any help would be appreciated.

Hello,

Recov Servo OP errors means that Heads are weak or not fully compatible.
But this drive is SSHD and could be problems related to content inside NAND.
Firstly necessary try to reinit NAND - heads should be in good condition.
After that you can report the drive and check how it's initializing when be possible to suppose is it heads issue or any other.

Can I jump in on this topic?

I have a few SSHD here with various firmware...

Applying the Kahuna/SSHD/Grenada patch (type2) renders the SSHD PCB unusable - the patch kills the PCB!

Even after flashing back the original unmodified ROM, the drive is dead. I have killed 3 Kahuna drives all with different FW, all the same result (dead)

If you write back rom with external programmer it will work ok.

You can access the sectors when you read and rewrite the rom with the pc-3000.
Today I tested it on "ST2000DX001-1CM164". :)

With SSHD, the same firmware revision donor PCB has to be used. Different firmware won't work.
