Hi,

Can anyone confirm that the ROM information is kept on the Marvel BGA chip as shown in image attached.

We had a situation were we have physically swapped the patient Marvel chip from the damaged PCB to a good donor PCB. When we read the ROM through boot code the serial number is the same as the previous donor ROM information. Is the terminal getting this from somewhere else on the donor PCB board?

That is an SSHD (Hybrid drive) and your client may have hammered a nail in his data's coffin. The odds are, the PCB was perfectly fine.

ROM is stored in small BGA chip.
This is Lombard SSHD and we don't support it yet.
