Rosewood with calibration issue...

Postby Paradog84 » 26.10.17, 21:59

I have a Rosewood Seagate, 2Tb with 2 platters...

Reading is completely error free except it is slow with the constant terminal message -

RECOV Servo Op=0295 Resp=0005

RECOV Servo Op=0295 Resp=0005

RECOV Servo Op=0295 Resp=0005

etc...

Drive is not making any clicking sounds at all, even after moving both platters into a donor HDA (without removing heads)
Motor was balanced & platters aligned - drive is vibration free.

This message seems to only appear when reading, from experience this tells me the read adaptives need to be imported from the donor - but this is not supported on Rosewood up to date?

Hi, You should wait a bit after power on, maybe start reading from SA, If not, need to find another heads donor. Be carefully when swap heads.

Hello,

Did you try to short read channels to access the terminal prompt?

Hi, thanks for your replies...

No, I did not short the read channels, I've never done this with Rosewood family - the drive becomes ready and I can access the SA/Data areas as normal.
Only when reading user data does this message appear.
