the ROM is unique and cannot be replaced. Did you check terminal window on powering of this? Does it display any info?

Did you solve this case? Also, do you mean FW of 'LVD6' ? If you can report here terminal output and it relates to 'clumps' error I have a solution for it that I may be able to help with.

I cannot repair the error in the NAND, but I do know how to reach user data. The NAND contains a copy of the ROM and some SA info, so it is impossible to use donor PCB as donor NAND has donor ROM inside and will always boot first. The NAND at the donor PCB needs to be emptied and patient ROM needs to be loaded to it. This I can do.

What is the details of your drive?

It is ST1000LM014 firmware LVD1. Drive doest`t spin up. In terminal You have this "clumps" error and BSY register. I have the same donor drive. I tried to put board from donor and drive start spinning, heads recalibates properly. Of course ROM was from donor drive so I didn`t have access do the user data. I read ROM from "damaged clumps" board and write it into donor board but after that drive doesn`t spin again no info about clumps. You suggest to write whole ROM or a part of it into donor ? Am I understad it right ?

Donor PCB is from drive with different FW version? Donor must have same FW version to ensure similar NAND structures.

It was an adaptive problem.
