Fujitsu MHT2060AH - drive ID couldn't be read

Postby DR_Ireland » 04.12.07, 12:47

I can hear it knocking quietly. I suspect controller board. Tried to diagnose it in Kernel mode but there is no MHT2xxxAH family listed. I tried another drive MHT2040AH and it is being detected as MHT2xxxAT family but cannot work with ROM (Error reading ROM parameters : Rom_Info : information from ROM not loaded (ROM reading parameters not assigned!)

Swapped controller boards but they are with different firmwares:
MHT2060AH is 73-006C
MHT2040AH is AD-006C

Boards are marked almost exactly the same:
Drive one is MHT2060AH <=> Drive two is MHT2040AH
107EE Z <=> 107EE E
CA21328-B41X <=> CA21328-B41X
CA26325-B18104BA <=> CA26325-B18104BA
VD4Z19 <=> VD5127

Swapped these boards ant it is not knocking but drive ID still cannot be read and cannot read ROM information in Kernel mode.
What does it mean? Does this drive keen any adaptive data in ROM?Should I replace firmware chip and if so which one is it?
Why isn't this family included in the utility?

Kind regards, Paul.

It may be read channel problem (PCB). And of course you need to rewrite ROM from patient to donor. Not because of adaptives. It`s because of FW incomptibility.
PS: Currently utility can read-write ROM no MHT family only in kernel mode. Read manual and try to move ROM image from patient to donor PCB.
