I've been working on a:
MHV2080BH
CA06682-B038
0BDD7B-00000029
PCB: CA26338-B74104BA
In this series of Fujitsu there are adaptives in the ROM. However, in this particular model of PCB there is no serial flash ROM chip. It has been integrated into the main Marvell MCU.
The patient PCB has a fault - it gives no status lights, but the HDD spins up and makes a clicking sound. Donor heads have been used, but the fault is replicated. The patient heads have been tested in the donor - the patient heads work OK.
The fault appears to relate to the PCB, or potentially the service area.
Is there any method to extract to the ROM contents from the Marvell MCU so that it can be reprogrammed into a donor PCB? I presume that any form of hot-swap is not possible on these HDDs?
Thanks for any help,
J

Re: MHV2080BH ROM
Hello J,
In this particular case the only way can advice is try to re-solder MCU chip from the patient PCB to the donor one.
