Is there any way to connect a 2.5" USB PCB by terminal?

There's no obvious pins, but is there any way to make some modifications to allow a terminal connection? Would be very handy to be able to read the ROM on these boards.

There is a SATA equivalent (with terminal port) for almost all Toshiba USB drives.

Yes I know, its the conversion that is the hassle. Their ROM chips on most Toshiba PCBs can't be read with a chip reader like most other PCBs.

Been reading and writing Toshiba ROMs on the PCB for years with pogo WSON clip with RevelProg IS, very fast and safe.

I think this is a cason chip so not so easy to read.
But swapping the ROM is literally a 2 minute job.
What's the hassle?

The hassle is I don't have any soldering experience so I wouldn't trust myself to do it, when I can't find any other way to read/write the chips I outsource it to a specialist circuit board repair company and even they mess it up half the time.

digitalsupport are you able to read/write both kinds of ROM chips? When its this kind, its no problem

Why not buy a few PCBs off eBay and experiment. Its a very easy (and basic) skill to learn.

There are a lot of working pogo pin adapters for both WSON and SOIC chips.
Agree that moving chip is 2 min job, but i prefer to read and write
