MQ04UBB400

Postby se134 » 21.08.24, 10:14

Hello everyone.
I have a MQ04UBB400 which is not recognized.
DISK DRIVE MQ04UBB400
DRIVE REV AZA AE02/JS0B0U
DATE:18JAN2023
MADE IN PHILIPPINES

Is this not supported by pc3000?
I changed the PCB interface from USB (G0090A) to SATA (G4311A).
Of course I read the G0090A ROM with a ROM programmer and wrote to the G4311A ROM.
When I read it with DE, there is no partition and the data seems to be encrypted.
I checked the CPU on the PCB and found that the G0090A and G4311A seem to be different. Is this the reason why data cannot be accessed?
Does anyone have a solution?

Thanks for the reply, Masterclass.
But I got a normal donor MQ04BBU400 and changed the PCB from G0090A to G4311A in the same way, but I cannot see the partitions and data on the DE.
The following article says that G0090A and G4311A are fully compatible, but I think they have different CPUs and are not compatible.

Thanks for the reply, d_d_recovery.

Sector 0 is not readable.
Because the head clicks at startup.
It will be DRD,DSC in about 1 minute.
I thought the patient's MQ04BBU400 may have a broken translator or may not have been initialized by SA.
I don't know the details as it is not supported by Utility.
Hopefully it will be supported by PC3000 in the near future.

In addition I am sure that PCB G0090A will be fully compatible with G4311A.
Thank you very much.
