Well, special firmware resources are required for making self-test on Toshiba hard drives, but these resources aren't available for public access.In other words It is not possible to create methods for doing Toshiba self-test without having its self-test resources. I spoke to developers about Toshiba self-tests some time ago, and got an answer that they could not get firmware self-test resources.
If you know how to get ones, please provide me information about it and most likely Toshiba self-test will appear in next PC-3000 UDMA version.

Well, having certain files did not mean you could run self-test on Toshiba drive correctly and it will perform the actions it was supposed. But who knows, sometimes information leaks out.
