Quantum Go 80MB.
The new PC3K does not handle this drive due to c/h/s vs LBA . It seems the ISA version would be capable. Would there be any other way to try to work with this? The drive fully ID's on a pc3k.

Out of curiosity would an earlier PC detect this drive like a 486 or early Pentium?

Yes, I think you need a PC that still works with CHS drives.
Than you can start it with a linux distro and image it (if necessary) with DDRESCUE.

How do you determine if a machine works with CHS? What's the most recent machine? If you have machines handy i'm sure you can check by just going into the CMOS to see if there are options to adjust C/h/s parameters. But I don't have machines lying around... I have to go find one.

I've been surprised to find that even may newer motherboards do have settings for configuring a CHS drive. Try just looking in the BIOS of every machine you've got laying around, especially any servers. You may find that you already have one which can be configured. Just see if there's the option to turn off "Automatic" and manually set the C/H/S value.

Also don't rule out stupidity. The last drive I had which I was going crazy trying to figure out the "CHS" values and make it work, finally turned out to just have the wrong PCB on it entirely. After I put the original back on, I was able to image it just using PC-3000 like any other.
