MacAfee Endpoint Security Data Recovery.

Hi,

I received a drive that I was able to clone 100% without any issue.
It seems that the drive has 'McAfee End Point Encryption'.

The customer has the password. The laptop motherboard is not working properly.

Is there a way to get the data here?

:???:

There is, their IT department should have a bootable cd/USB with the endpoint encryption software for manual removal. Just attach the drive via ATA-USB and apply password to remove it. Or you can just install the drive into another system and boot from it. The boot partition will be intact if you cloned 100%. Apply their password and the OS will continue to boot. It may crash but if you choose safe mode or get to command prompt you can start copying out data. Best scenario is to install in to similar system and boot.
