When imaging or extracting data from with a damaged drive, which method will achieve best results -

a) imaging or extracting data or an image file (.BIN)

b) imaging or extracting using native format?

c) it does not matter

I would be interested in hearing your experiences or opinions on this?

Doesn't matter how to save.
More important is drive's condition and how it allows to read user area.
