how do you keep track of com port you are using?

having 2 com ports ,sometimes will mix up .
how do you guys keep track ? especially if you are using 5 ports.

For a while, I was using multiple com port boards, and I always keep several backup ones around. But, like you found it gets to be confusing.

In all honesty, I'm rarely actually using more than one at any given time. Once a task is imaging there's no need for it anymore. So I usually just stick with one, then unplug and plug back in the USB cable when I need to switch it to a different channel.

We typically always connect terminal even when not necessary, so we often have 4 on/connected at the same time. Lately, I've been unplugging the terminal USB cable when imaging is finished, so all connected terminals are in use. When putting up a new drive, I'll connect a "free" terminal and then it's the only option that works when picking the COM port.
