PC3K UDMA - SATA Power issue

Postby hddr49 » 24.07.25, 10:54

Hi there,
I was worried about a case I start on SATA1. The drive (WD2500) spin on, sometimes go ready, sometimes reinit himself. When ready, I am able to read surface, sometimes during an hour, sometimes during one second...
I swap heads, but still.
I swap pcb, it seems better, but only for a while.

After several tries, I switch to SATA0, and bingo, the drive init correctly, read data area with full speed.

I think my PC3K board is tired, can I do something about it ?

Thanks.

Hi Hdd49,
Have you try to replace the SATA and power cable, it's comsumable parts. May be swap ATA0 and ATA1 cable for a quick check.
