ST3320418AS - strange case

Postby AdasRip » 20.10.18, 10:11

Hello. I've patient ST3320418AS.

At the beginning the patient became ready but did not return HDD ID.
In the terminal, he reported as follows:

Code: Select all

Rst 0x10M
Servo Processor Is Reset.
RW: Disc Ctlr Initialization Completed.
ExecuteSpinRequest
(P) SATA Reset

I have cleaned the HDA connectors then HDD starts and get at the DRD and DSC status for a few of a second. Next get BSY status for a few seconds and over and over again.

So I 've uncheck background processes in Edit HDD ID. Then patients starts normally and return HDD ID corectly.

Unfortunately, there are problems with accessing user data. It is possible to read about 1% of sectors. With the others, the drive reboots immediately.

I was able to read the data from Active PC-3000 Utility. The reading speed is only 10 KB/s, but it's better than not at all.

Thus, the data is currently being recovered but I wanted to ask for educational purposes, what is the reason that the data is recovered only from Active PC-3000 Utility?

Short read channels during calibration to try to retain T> and make more tests from there.
