Toshiba MK5072GSX scratched Surface

Postby d1d » 03.10.18, 21:18

Hello,

I have a Toshiba 2,5" HDD whit a scratched Surface in the Center of the disk. The HDD is clicking. I have just changed the head but always the same problem. I can see the rom and ram about the com port, but i can't get the data. What i have to do?

Thanks a Lot!

Best wishes Luigi

top surface is surface '0' and as far as I am aware you need this surface to be OK to initialize it. As most SA is stored in PCB, maybe you can place patient PCB on donor to init donor PCB, then hotswap it to your patient and try reading? Not sure this will work though but I do not think you have many options available...
