Is ST1000UM000 supported? Can't import adaptives into ROM.

Got this drive in completely dead, no terminal output. Same with PCB + ROM swap. But, donor ROM + PCB spins up (even gives LBA access to first 15 sectors). So, I think it has corrupt ROM.

Luckily, I can save the ROM with Boot Code. But, I get errors when trying to import its adaptives into a donor ROM. Turns out, I can't view the head map (logical or physical) either, but the ID works and is correct.

Is this model not supported?

Drive doesn't ID. That is a donor drive.

I read your post again and i too think it could be the rom .So the best bet would be give TS a ticket and send them the rom ,Might be they can extract the adaptives .Then you might be able to add them to donor rom and hope that trick works .Do ask Frank Too he does good work in seagate and also few other people
