WD3200AAKS-75L9A0

Postby betty » 09.10.16, 07:36

Dear all,
I got one hdd WD32000AAKS-75L9A0 with clicking sound and spindown after the some click. so the following proccess i have done:
1) Block SA Access ...no success
2) disabled head 0 and then spinning is there.
3) Upload Dir into HDD RAM -load from hdd SA and LDR upload
4) after this proccess SA can accessible and ID is like XYZ.... and wrong capacity showd
5) then i took HDD Backup
6)next Module 47 recovery and success
7 write module 47 to ROM modules.
8 then SA translator Regen
9 Re-power and utility restart
Now became capacity and ID is correct and i a can access modules , all modules are perfect

BUT NO SECTOR ACCESS

after that i tried to enable Head 0 in ROm and map editing in RAM like 11-No success also start clicking sound
Also clear and again restore the P-List
Still the drive is showing full ID without able to access a single Sector

MY Doubt: I was done the SA translator Regen with a single HEAD -1 . IS it neccessary to translator regen should perform with exact HEADs.?
expect more advice
Betty

Hello Betty ,
This is correct ,When the drive leave the factory the translator is made with all heads ,When you disable head that does not solve the purpose as you are wanting to recover data not repair the drive

betty, Some head can not pass the test during drive initialization. Return the original Service Area modules back from backup, and try to edit the head map in RAM: http://blog.acelab.eu.com/ram-head- ... -case.html
