Old maxtor drive 2B020H1 LDR

Hi there,

I got this old drive, whitch fall in 'FAIL' (diagram 4.1 on page 5)

I try process page 40 of maxtor manual, but as says, fall on "Roadmap reading" error

I try 2 different checksum (892B and 7935) same thing happen.

Have you other loaders with other checksums ?

Are you sure drive is in safe mode? Also, there are some Athena with PKR chip and others with DSP chip, your loader must be from compatible version

Yes, I am sure.

Without pins in safe mode, the drive fall in "Fail" and the proces p40 don't work at all

with pins in safe mode, it fall in "Safe", and the process p40 worked well until "Roadmap reading" error

It is a PKR /Poker chip, as labelled on PCB and as detected by the utility.

are you check with another pcb?
in safe mode do'nt spin up drive , is it?

is it normal sound?

I have not checked with another PCB yet.
In safe mode, the drive don't spin up, and when in utility I start firmware, the drive spins up.

Normal sound, no head knocking.

Got an idea ?
