toshiba mk5061GSY - no terminal
I have patient and donor - neither one will respond in terminal.
Normally when the terminal is connected and power is OFF then the RxD light on the PC-USB Terminal adapter is solid yellow.
This indicates that the drive is not 'driving a signal on the transmit pic (from drive to PC).
When the drive is powered on the RxD light goes OFF then blinks 1 time.
This is normal because the laptop drive is providing a voltage on the RxD line.
I tested this with a 3256GSY , and that is how it functions.
My Patient and good donor mk5061GSY do not do this.
After power on the RxD light stays Solid yellow.
I have traced out the pins and the connections are good all the way to the CPU.
What could be going on?
Is the 5061GSY looking to receive some instruction from the pc to enable to com port?
With the3256GSY i can remove the SATA, power up, and terminal responds wo CR with '>'.
Donor works fine. I can surface test, but terminal is not responding and cant backup resources.

Make sure PC USB Terminal is connected directly to your motherboard ports on PCs back side. Using front ports can cause what you described above.
The other thing you can try is trying some other USB port. You can also try to remove current USB Terminal drivers from your system and install their newer version(update box has drives within USB Terminal folder).

Re: toshiba mk5061GSY - no terminal
Got the same but with old version 5.2.6 it work fine. So I think is a software bug.
Try to install an older version for these cases.
