Hello everybody,
I have a Seagate drive which when connected to PC-3000 does stay in Busy mode. Running "DE" or Utility doesnt work because the Drive is not Ready.
After connecting it to Terminal here is the output.

After reading the whole manual and many of the forum post I could still not come to any conclusion on what is wrong.
Could anyone give me a hint or guideline where shall I look or go from here please?
Thank you.

HDD cannot enter ATA mode. My guess is attempts to switch to ATA mode have damaged some system sectors.
Did you try rewrite CERT information? I see similar errors after "T4E"
Even recovery via Terminal in BSY is not possible without loading CERT.
You have donor of same FW specifications?

Hi AJ2008,
I did not try to rewrite CERT. I am at the beginning of diagnosing this drive.
Unfortunatly I have 4 drives like this but they all have different fimrware.
I checked them on the label and in terminal also.
Could you also thell me how and from where I could learn identifying what the terminal gives back to me. There are examples in the manual but I guess that is just the surface.
Thanks,
G

There is no definitive manual as such, and responses can vary between families.
The only way to learn is through experience. Over time you will identify consistent messages with specific failures.
Analyzing the terminal output is a great tool for diagnosis, but understanding it is not easy. There are many replies that I still do not understand, I am still learning myself!
