Can anyone help me to identify this drive recovered from a cctv unit following an arson.
I am pretty certain it's an Hitachi HDT7xxxxxx.
I've done a platter swap into a donor case but need to try to find a donor board to swap the removed NV-RAM onto. You never know, it just may work.
Many thanks in advance.
Update 12-4-12
This is more of an exercise than an expectation of data retrieval and yes there is heat damage to the outside edge of the platter.
The pictures below show the HDA of the donor drive I used and the remains of the patient. For the donor I used a Hitachi HDT721025SLA380 but this has a different configuration on the controller board although the board size and shape are identical, which is why I think it belongs to the HDT7xxxxxxx family.

Re: Hard Drive Identification
Hello.
Is it possible for you to provide photos with HDA from its top and bottom side?
I also wonder about platters condition, haven't they any visual defects?

Re: Hard Drive Identification
Looks more like hitachi to me. Probably PLAT or AVVA type family
Re: Hard Drive Identification
it's look like Hitachi CLA drive family (160 or 320Go)
I can't swap head from that family, anybody already do it?
