Drive spins, sounds normal, immediately:

Code: Select all

Rst 0x10M
No HOST FIS-ReadyStatusFlags 2002A185

Seen this a few times before, typically just regen translator and we're good to go, not on this guy.

Regen translator runs and completes without error. Still BSY in terminal with same error message.

Cleared GLIST to no effect and without error. Regen'd, still no joy.

Trying to run N1 command to clear smart gives a

Code: Select all

Init SMART Fail
LED:000000CC FAddr:0024E59

BUT if I run the N1 command immediately after a regen without killing power it actually says it cleared the SMARTs without error. But even after successfully clearing the Smart it still gives the No HOST FIS and is a brick.

After reading a couple related posts I wanted to share this addition information:

The S/N on the drive is 5VM9RMQA (same as I get with CTRL-L). Am I correct in assuming CTRL-L output is exporting the S/N from the PCB ROM and not the platter so I can rule out the customer sending the wrong PCB?
