1600AAJS-75B4A0 Pinnacle SA issues

Postby paramagnetic » 10.02.12, 17:09

So I have a pinnacle that is behaving different then any I have personally seen before.

It powers up, make normal sounds but stays busy.

after ~3 minutes, similar to the Sadle G6 family, it will read ERR ABRT.

Here is where it gets interesting to me.

I have a perfect matching donor, using LDR file I can get into normal mode, but it will read "No SA copy available"

hardware modules check reads modules, but says there is a checksum issue with all modules except for 01.

If i try to do SA structure test all modules fail to read.

if I attempt to open any single module to view it in modules directory, it will not open.

So I did a "module search" using both methods gives me the same results, it finds the entire SA, and I can read each module and headers are in correct place, etc.

If I then select "use this dir in modules directory" option (forgot the exact syntax on that option) I can now do SA structure test and all modules pass.

So my question is, what is my next step here? Should I rewrite the found modules back to the drive?

Thanks!

update: wrote incompatible ROM to patient board, so drive now comes DRDY DRSC, but no ID (as expected)

forcing normal mode, I can click ... and it will populate SPT as 1311, but I still have same exact issues when reading SA.

not 100% sure it's the right next step, but did you try "writing to hdd" that new 01 module to the drive (rather than just using it "in utility" to check mods?)

Mod #11 was OK? Did you check content of #32 and of SMART also?
