Hi all !
I have bad Marvell Denali 2.5 WD3200BEVT-75ZCT2 and DCM: HHNTJHN.
Previos post here said from other site:
Example for old models:
DCM: HSEHYV2AH
1- Motor (H)
2- Base (S)
3- Latch (E)
4- Bottom VCM (H)
5- Media (Y)
6- Headstack (V)
7- Actuator-Preamp (2)
8- Top VCM (A)
9- Separator (H)
My DCM has only seven alpha HHNTJHN.
Can I use scme scheme but with seven? How to determine headstack replacement please ?
Many thanks in advance
Terry

Hi,
DCM is not the only thing to consider for head swap, there's much more.

Re: WD3200BEVT-75ZCT2 DCM Compatibility
for WD head compatibility you need:
1. Same Model Number
2. Same DCM Number (the more similar, the more success rate, at least the fifths and sixth number should be the same for example, patient drive’s DCM number is HHCTJHBB, so at least we need find the donor one with xxxxJHxx DCM Number)

Every man dies, but not every man really lives

Re: WD3200BEVT-75ZCT2 DCM Compatibility
Hi all !
Thank for response.
This patient is a WD Scorpio:
WD3200BEVT-75ZCT2
I find most donor match WD3200BEVT-75ZCT2 but have following DCM variation:
Thiland DCM: 12345678
Malaysia DCM: 1234567
My Patient DCM: HHNTJHN
1- Motor (H)
2- Base (S)
3- Latch (E)
4- Bottom VCM (H)
5- Media (Y)
6- Headstack (V)
7- Actuator-Preamp (2)
8- Top VCM (A)
9- Separator (H)
Then to say:
WD3200BEVT-75ZCT2
DCM: xxxxJHx <= only 7 here
Malaysia
w/similar manufacture data.
Is to be considered. Correct?
How do Micro-jog fit into this scheme for head stack replacement. I do not recall PC3K manual discussion on Micro-Jog.
Any thoughts ...
Terry

Re: WD3200BEVT-75ZCT2 DCM Compatibility
DCM here is not as important as it was in older series.
Also, JOG values do not need modifying, head positioning alignment should not be an issue.
Same family, same headmap is more important than DCM here.

Thank you AJ:
I find in ACE WDC Marvell Utility Book Jog dialogue..... I think Jog is only for newer drives as in book.
Do you say head alignment is not critical with WD Drive ?
