ST3500418AS-FIRMWARE CC38-MODULE PROBLEM

Postby RescueDRL@gmail.com » 07.01.11, 02:14

Hi, this Seagate 500GB drive had a blown motor chip and the ROM was transplanted to
a donor controller card. The drive now spins up, IDs itself correctly (after a LONG time),
but no data is read. There appears to be a module problem according to this PC3K-UDMA
screenshot. Modules 08, 0A, 0E, 15, and 3A are not read. Which of these need to be replaced?

Thanks,
Chris

What you can do is get a good working drive and check visually what is the purpose of those modules.
