ST3500320NS Barracuda ES.2 staying busy
We have a ST3500320NS Barracuda ES.2 staying busy. We tried to solve this problem by same method as 7200.11 F3 architecture drives (LED problem + translator) but it does not work, can you please help asap?
Re: ST3500320NS Barracuda ES.2 staying busy
We had similar problem with this drive. The drive was from hp PC with HP12 fw. We updated fw to Seagate one and it has solved the problem.
Re: ST3500320NS Barracuda ES.2 staying busy
This drive is also from HP server but with Seagate fw SN15. However, Seagate firmware update utility does not see this drive at all, so we were unable to apply firmware.

Hi Datahelp:
What firmware are you used to update drive?
Re: ST3500320NS Barracuda ES.2 staying busy
The new update is out, Maybe try to get them and install them. I see more drives now with the new update and drives with this problem before are now seen by pc3k. Check your download box for the new update or contract tech support direct. Install and then try again.

i think PC3Km ust support this drive,..
Change your Cable.. maybe it is because of bad contact or bad cable

The cable is Ok. Thanks.
I see next:
the PCB disconect from HDA and conect to PC3000 shows the same parameters.
Another PCB form functionally same model disk disconect from HDA and conect to PC300 also shows the same parameters.

Re: ST3500320NS Barracuda ES.2 staying busy
Hi Steven.
you're right.
When I attach this drive to PC, BIos detect it like: GB0250C8045 that matches to the HP MODEL.

There's a picture of disk label.
This is an HP's PC internal disk, and have Hp firmware (HPG1) and own Hp parameters.

Model: ST_M13FQBL
Serial: QNR_BFW
Firmware: 11291209
Capacity: 3.86 Gb
It's the default parameters for that PCB.. Much like WD M when you see something like
mammoth
s/n xyz
etc
