HOW TO RECOVER BITLOCKER DRIVE DATA

Hi all,

Today was my first run-in with Bitlocker. The process on the blog is great up to the point where it is asking for the key. The customer gave me the key, but it does not work. So for now, there is more investigation to be done; the laptop that was used for the encryption broke when the customer dropped it and the disk also died.

The question that I have at this point is; can the external USB encrypted drive be formatted and used for something else? I am not activating Bitlocker on my equipment and I do not have a way to try it out. Has anyone tried formatting - I know that the data will be lost, but the idea is to be able to use the disk for storage again.
